Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 20: The Union Territory Agriculture Technology Management Agency (UTATMA) in association with the Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration at Diglipur organized a two days training programme on ‘Mushroom Cultivation’ at Community Hall of D.B. Gram under Madhupur Panchayat on Oct.17& 18, 2024. Smti Arti Singh, Assistant Director (Agri.), Diglipur welcomed the gathering and briefed about the scope, importance and nutritive value of Mushroom in present scenario. She briefed about the prospect of employment generation of farm women through Mushroom cultivation.
During the technical session, various aspects of Mushroom Cultivation were explained by the Experts, Smt. Seena Pillai, Agriculture Officer (I/c) and Smt. Kamrun Nisa, Agriculture Assistant. During the practical session, ATMA staff, Shri Ranjan Heera and Smt. Ima Sarkar elaborated on the processing of paddy straw and method of cultivation of mushroom by providing hands on training.
Similar training programme was also conducted in the field of Smti Seena, W/o Shri K.N. Subash on Oct.14 &15, 2024 at Keralapuram in which, Dr. Nagnath Bhojane, Senior Veterinary Officer, AH & VS Department as chief guest urged the farmers to learn the method of cultivating mushroom for practicing in their household.
Representative from Fisheries and Forest Departments also participated in the programme and sensitized about the ongoing schemes and activities of their respective Department. An interactive session for clearing the grievances related to the ongoing departmental schemes and other issues was also conducted.
