Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 14: In line with the Election Commission of India’s directives, the pre-revision activity for the Annual Summary Revision of the electoral roll has officially commenced as of August 20, 2024. This crucial process aims to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the electoral roll.
To ensure the inclusiveness of all the stakeholders, the Deputy Commissioner (SA)/ District Election Officer (SA) held a meeting with the members of the political parties and briefed them about the pre-revision and upcoming revision activities scheduled under SSR-2025.
On the ongoing pre-revision activities, DC(SA)/DEO(SA) emphasized on the importance of the house-to-house verification of the current voter list by the respective BLOs and gathering information on:
• Unenrolled eligible citizens (eligible as of October 1, 2024)
• Prospective electors (eligible as of January 1, 2025)
• Prospective electors for future qualifying dates (April 1, 2025; July 1, 2025; October 1, 2025)
• Multiple entries, deceased electors, and those who have permanently shifted
• Necessary corrections to electoral roll entries
The integrated draft electoral roll will be published on October 29, 2024. The DC(SA) appealed to the general public to use this opportunity to submit claims and objections regarding the draft roll from October 29, 2024, to November 28, 2024. The finalized electoral roll will be published on January 6, 2025.
Further, DC(SA)/ DEO(SA) urged all residents to cooperate with their local Booth Level Officers during this process. It is essential to verify and correct electoral roll details promptly. Additionally, electors can update their mobile numbers and link their Aadhaar information through the BLOs.
Active participation will help ensure a smooth and accurate electoral process.
