Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 13: Andaman Mahila Mandal, Sri Vijaya Puram, marked the auspicious occasion of Navami Durga Puja by celebrating with the elderly mothers at Ullas Old Age Home, Dolly Gunj. The event was filled with joy, warmth, and meaningful interactions with the residents, spreading the festive spirit of togetherness and compassion.
Leading the celebration was Mrs. Pramila Kumari, President of Andaman Mahila Mandal, accompanied by Dr. Sunita Patil, Secretary, Miss Mala Barua, Treasurer, and members Mrs. Sunanda Das, Mrs. Hema Biswas, and Mrs. Sarsamma Prabhakaran, Ex-Counselor, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council (SVPMC). They were warmly received by Mrs. Zarina Bibi, Incharge of Ullas Old Age Home, and Mrs. Bharti Choudhary, who also graced the occasion with their presence.
The team spent time interacting with the elderly mothers, listening to their stories and sharing in their experiences. As part of the celebration, new clothes were distributed to all the elderly women, symbolizing the joy of the festival. Light refreshments were also shared, enhancing the festive spirit.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Pramila Kumari, President of Andaman Mahila Mandal, expressed, “Durga Puja is a festival of unity and blessings.
