Port Blair, Mar 06: The A&N State Social Welfare Board will be celebrating the International Women’s Day on Friday the 8th March, 2013 at 10.00 a.m. in the Auditorium of Govt. Tagore B.Ed. College, Middle Point, Port Blair, A large no. of women from Mahila Mandals will participate. Smt Bhawanee Singh, the First Lady of A&N Islands has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest on the occsion.
Prominent speakers from Institutions, College, Police Department, lawyers and Social activists will speak on women’s empowerment. Smt. Ratna Kannan, Chairperson, A&N Social Welfare Board will preside over the function. Five eminent women will be felicitated for their dedicated service to the Islands by the First Lady.
A Colourful function to mark the occasion will be presented by various Mahila Mandals and other Organisations.
