Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 29: The Directorate of Rural Development (RD), PRIs and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, is making sincere efforts for making Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2024 as a step towards Clean and Green UT. In a remarkable display of community spirit, creativity and commitment to cleanliness, various activities were successfully conducting across various Gram Panchayats of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, NGOs, CSOs, Line Department, students, and community leaders. Under the guidance of Shri Uma Sankar Sarkar, Pradhan a dingy was arranged and a beach clean-up activity at Paschimsagar Beach along with ZPM, PRIs, Sanitation Staff, DRM, VLW, GRS and local youth.
Further, a Random Inspection –cum- Awareness Drive on Single Use Plastic was successfully conducted in the market places and commercial establishments of Chunna Bhatta area of Gram Panchayat Hope Town under Ferrargunj Block.
A cycle rally was also organized by Gram Panchayat, Neil Kendra were 30 enthusiastic students participated from Govt. Sr. Sec. School. The aim of the rally to promote ‘Swachhata’ as a way of life.

The enthusiasm and commitment have made a profound impact, not just on initiative, but to protect our mother earth from Climate Change is our fundamental duty.
