Port Blair, Mar 04: Thirty Four students and two faculty members of the Department of Social Work, Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Kelambakam, Chennai called on Mrs. Ratna Kannan, Chairperson, A&N Social Welfare Board, Port Blair in her Office on 4.3.2013. The Chairperson welcomed the students and expressed her happiness that more and more children are taking up Social Work as their career. Mrs. Kannan also emphasized the fact that service to the society should be done from the heart and not for name & fame.
The students were briefed on different schemes of the A&N State Social Welfare Board and they were also briefed on the problems of this society here in these Islands. The students were fascinated to know about the Inter cultural mix of the A&N Society. The Chairperson wished the students a very bright future and blessed them to dedicate their lives for the society.
