Port Blair, Mar 01: The road leading to New Pahargoan from Corbyn Chowk is in worst state since last three years and it is also not repaired and reconstructed even after multiple complaints by the residents to the Port Bair Municipal Council. The road has developed several pit holes, bumps and waves and the number of holes on the road cannot be counted.
According to the residents of the area the road is patched up every time they complain but the patch up work does not even remain for one month and after a month the condition of the road even becomes worst.
The residents are also in great distress because the drains made by PBMC on both sides of the road leading to New Pahargoan from INS Utkrosh gate have failed to serve its purpose because of its bad construction. The drains flood during the rains and all the water flows from the roads instead of flowing from the drains and this is also a reason why the roads are spoilt every time even after patching it up so many times.
The Residents are facing a lot of problems because of the bad condition of the road and drains. Their vehicles often get damaged and the patients also are not able to bear the sudden shocks because of the bumps on the roads. The residents also approached the councilor of the area and also made him inspect the site but still the condition is same.
PBMC is responsible for the maintenance of the road and it is failing in that regard because of which the residents of the area are facing a lot of Problems. The Secretary, PBMC should find some time and inspect the site soon and also order for carrying out the repair works as soon as possible.
