Port Blair, Mar 01: The Dugong Eco Club of the GSSS Neil Island celebrated the National Science Day on 28th Feb in collaboration with Hawa Bill Nest (IP&T), Neil Island and Police Station Neil Island.
The celebration of the National Science Day included Beach cleaning drive by the students of the school along with the employees of the Hawa Bill Nest (IP&T), Neil Island and PS Neil Island. Altogether the drive cleaned the beaches of Neil Island and recovered 200 bags of non biodegradable garbage’s like plastic bags, containers etc.
On this occasion the Principal of the school Mrs. Usha Kumar Paladugu unveiled the Science Wall Magazine of the school prepared by Mr. Bimal Madhu, GTT (Science) of the school. On this occasion the Manager Hawa Bill Nest Mr. Zahid Hussain also delivered a speech on ‘Sustainable Tourism Development in Andaman and Nicobar Islands’.
The program concluded with a debate among the students on the topic ‘Role of Science in Human Life’ . The program paved a new platform for the students where they learnt and also paid tribute to Sir C.V Raman, the great Indian Physicist.
