Port Blair, Jul 31: The Port Blair Municipal Council bid farewell to seven employees of the Council, who superannuated from government service. At a simple function held on 31st July, 2024 in the Conference Hall of the PBMC. The Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council, Mr. Sudeep Rai Sharma handed over all the retirement benefits including GPF, Gratuity and other monetary benefits to the retiring employees. In his address the Chairperson recalled the valuable services rendered by them to the Council and wished them happy and healthy post retired life and also said that retirement is not the end of a productive life, but a new beginning with opportunities to explore learn and enjoy life’s journey. Mementoes were also presented to the retiring employees. Elected representatives of various wards and officers / officials of the Council were also present during the farewell function. The employees who retired are viz Mr. Ram Chander, Assistant Engineer (E&M), Mr. Biswas Narayan Assessor (Revenue Section), Mr. R Rama Chandran, Mechanic (Mechanical Section), Mr. M Mohan Rao, Mason(Work Section), Mr. S.Krishnaswamy , Mason (Work Section), Mr. P.Selvaraj, WCM (Work Section) and Mr. K.R.Unni, Lineman attached to Water Section respectively.
