Port Blair, July 08: Abbhyudaya Complex, Ferrargunj under Social Welfare Department, continues its commitment to enhancing the lives of its residents through engaging weekend activities. The recent weekend events held on July 6 and 7 showcased a blend of entertainment, recreation, and community building for the inmates.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), stressed the significance of physical fitness and regular activities for senior citizens during the events. He emphasized that activities like indoor games are vital for improving mental and physical fitness, contributing to overall health and well-being, especially for older individuals. His support for promoting healthy lifestyles among senior citizens resonated with both participants and organizers.
On 6 July 2024, Abbhyuday Complex treated the residents of the Children Home, Ashraya Home and Old Age Home to an enjoyable movie show. The inmates relished the cinematic experience and expressed excitement and delight throughout the movie screening. The provision of refreshments further enhanced the residents’ enjoyment, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
Continuing the focus on promoting physical activity and engagement, Abbhyuday Complex organized an exhilarating Indoor Games session for the residents of the Old Age Home and Children Home on 7 July 2024. Games such as Carrom, Table Tennis, and Ludo were featured, encouraging active participation and fostering a spirit of friendly competition among the inmates. The residents displayed high levels of enthusiasm and excitement, showcasing the positive impact of sports activities on their well-being.
