Port lair, July 07: Botanical Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre, celebrated Van Mahotsav – 2024 under the leadership of Additional Director & Regional Head, Dr. Lal Ji Singh and organized mass tree plantation programme at Government Primary School, Nayashahar; Dhanikhari Experimental Garden, South Andaman and an awareness rally on more plantation was also organized with a slogan Ek Ped lagao Maa ke Naam in the residential areas of the Nayashahar. Headmistress Smt. Amudha of Government Primary School, Nayasahar, South Andaman welcomed the gathering. Teaching staff along with students, BSI scientists, staffs and local people actively participated. During celebration seedlings of edible plants especially Coconut, Khattaphal, Cowa phal, Mango etc were distributed.
