
Port Blair, Jun 06: In a significant step towards promoting environmental sustainability and community health, the Hope Foundation, with the help of its partner CRY (Child Rights and You), successfully organized some important events like a cleanliness drive followed by a drawing competition and tree plantation in different areas in honor of Environment Day. This initiative is to bring awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The event started with a cleanliness drive at the seashore area of Jungli Ghat early in the morning, around 0500 Hrs to 0730 Hrs. Some local volunteers, along with the members of Hope Foundation and their collective groups, participated. After that, a drawing competition on the theme of “Save the Earth” was also conducted in their working area in the presence of Mr. K Ganeshan (Ex Chairman PBMC), who was stunned to watch the talent of the kids and promised prizes for the winners from his pocket. The last event of the day was a tree plantation at Ranchi Basti, School line. Mrs. Zarina Bibi (CDPO) from the Social Welfare Department started the event by planting a tree, followed by other people from the community and members of Hope Foundation. Mrs. Farida Bibi, Director of Hope Foundation, remarked, “Our aim is to foster a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Today’s events are a testament to what we can achieve when the community comes together for a common and noble cause. We are committed to making our surroundings GREENER AND CLEANER.” At the end, she expressed heartfelt thanks to CRY on behalf of all the members of Hope Foundation and the entire community. The Hope Foundation plans to conduct similar events regularly with the help of CRY, who took the initiative.
