Port Blair, Jun 04: One Stop Centre under the Directorate of Social Welfare organized an online awareness session for the benefits of the women to shed light on the Importance of Women education.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (SW), stressed on the Importance of women Education and said Women’s Education. A well-educated woman provides the skills, knowledge, and self-assurance necessary to be a better citizen. Further emphasized that Investing in women’s education is not just a matter of equity, it’s a strategic investment in the future prosperity and well-being of societies worldwide.
During the Online session Mr. Anish Badaik, Para Legal Personnel/Lawyer, One Stop Centre briefed on the objective of One Stop Centre scheme which provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence during distress both in private and public spaces. The One Stop Centers facilitate immediate, emergency, non- emergency services access to a range of services including Medical, Legal, minimum 5 days temporary shelter, Police assistance, Psychological and Counseling support to fight any forms of violence against women under single roof.
Followed by sessions briefed on benefits of women education, impact of women education on society, its importance such as educating women leads to improved social and economic conditions, empowering them with knowledge of their rights and freedoms.
