Port Blair, Feb 21: The final match of “State Open ARPAN ROLLING CUP Volley Ball Championship – 2013” concluded in a befitting manner in the forest ground, Tushnabad. The final match between Bihar Territorial Army and A&N Police was witnessed by the Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, ANTCC. The final match was also graced by Smti. Abala Samaddar, Adhyaksha, ZP SA, Smti. Balbir Kaur, Up Adhyaksha, ZP SA, Major Yogender Gaur, Bihar (TA), Capt. Ankit Yadav, Bihar (TA), Shri. Anand Amrit Raj, ZP member, Shri. Subramaniam, Director, ANCOFED, Shri. Anand Rao, Director, ANCOFED, Shri. Subhash Dey, Pradhan, Shri. Kandayya, Pradhan, Shri. Abdul Rafiq, Up Pradhan, Shri. NK Unnin, Ex-Pradhan, Smti. Hemawati, SHO, Shri. V.K.Sayed Alvi, Shri. N.Koya, and Shri. Subeer Chander.
The Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, ANTCC in his address lauded the efforts of ARPAN (NGO) and Youth Club, Ograbraj for organizing such a big event in the rural area and expressed his desire to support any sports events in the future as well. Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma also thanked the gathering for supporting the philanthropic cause of the organizing committee to support 15 BPL/poor students for the next school academic year.
In his address Shri. N M Bashir, Chairman, ARPAN thanked the Chief Guest Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President ANTCC and Officers from Bihar Territorial Army, PRI members and people from the rural areas for gracing the occasion. He also briefed the gathering about the activities of ARPAN.
A&N Police won the final in a straight three set by 25-22, 25-18 and 28-26 and became the first winner of State Open Arpan Rolling Cup Volleyball championship. Apart from the winners and runners trophies, both the teams were presented with a cash award of Rs. 10000/- and Rs. 7500/- respectively besides medals and certificates. The man of the match went to Shri. Vikas of A&N Police. Man of the tournament went to Shri. Arun of Bihar (TA).
Cash Prize of Rs. 17500/- was provided by Shri.Kuldeep Rai Sharma for the winner and runner teams, besides many prizes. The event was organized by ARPAN, NGO in association with Youth Club Ograbraj under the aegis of All A&N State Volleyball Association.
