Port Blair, Feb 17: The A & N Police one person for selling porn CDs while five others for gambling. In the first case, the SHO Pahargaon, SI P.K. Abdul Arif SHO PS Pahargaon alongwith the staff of Anti-Burglary Squad of PS Aberdeen comprising of ASI M. Abdul Rasheed, HC Sanjay Kujur, HC Surya Narayan, PC Ashish Mallick, PC Rakesh Toppo and PC M. Raja Rao raided a shop on Tuesday at Bathubasti and seized a big haul of pornographic Compact Discs and Computer hardware used for making copies of such CDs & Pen Drives and arrest one Sita Ram Yadav for selling the pornographic CDs. a case vide Crime No. 24/13, dated 12/02/13, u/s 292 IPC has been registered at PS Pahargaon and the accused person (owner of the shop) Sita Ram Yadav, (26) yrs. r/o New Pahargaon has been arrested for selling porn Video CDs. The recovered porn CDs, CD/DVD writer, Computer system and other accessories have been seized from the shop.
Continuing with its crackdown, the Aberdeen police arrested five persons on Thursday under the A&N Islands Gambling Regulation, 1956. Acting on a tip off, the Anti- Burglary squad of PS Aberdeen led by ASI M. Abdul Rasheed raided a gambling den near Cattle Pond at Anarkali in the evening and nabbed five persons, namely Mohd. Hussain (40) yrs, Mohd Arif (36) yrs both r/o Garacharma , Deepak Lall (32) yrs r/o Mohanpura, Roop Singh (43) yrs r/o Prem Nagar, M. Arul (33) r/o Wimberlygunj. 52 Nos. playing cards and Rs 42,025/- in cash were seized from the spot.

The informant will be rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret,” the SP, South Andaman said in a press release.
