Port Blair, Feb 17: The President, Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Lt. Governor for upgradation of the Govt. Secondary School of remote CFO Nallah to the senior secondary level.
In his letter, Mr Sharma said that students of Shiva Puram Gram Panchayat and adjoining areas are educated upto 10th Standard through English Medium at Govt Secondary School CFO Nallah, Betapur, but after matriculation the students are forced to continue their studies in English Medium in Senior Secondary School at Sabari, Rangat, which is about 30 km from Shiva Puram Gram Panchayat. Students intending for admissions in Hindi Medium have to go to Swadesh Nagar Govt Sr Sec School about 10 kms away from their place. Moreover, due to rush in these schools, some students don’t get admission even, said Mr Sharma.
Expressing concern for the remote students, Mr Sharma requested the lt. Governor to consider upgradation of the school of CFO Nallah to Sr Secondary School (English Medium) so that the students of the said school can continue their education from the same station. Such consideration by the administration will boost the morale of students and will also open employment opportunities for many in these remote regions, stated Mr Sharma.
