Port Blair, Apr 09: A massive Coastal Cleanup Drive was organized at Marina Park, Port Blair on Tuesday morning by the staff of TSG Hotels & Resorts, as a symbolic promotion of sustainable tourism along the coastal ecosystem.
Around 50 volunteers from TSG Emerald View Hotel & TSG Grand Hotel participated in the coastal clean-up drive.
The team collected around 9 bags of litter consisting of abandoned nylon nets, plastic bottles, plastic bags, etc. The team also sensitized the people in the park on good citizen practice to be followed and to spread the message of Clean and Green Andaman.
The core intention of this event was to create awareness among the local populace to keep beaches clean, safeguard the environment and inculcate the habit of respecting coastal lines which in turn nurtures marine biodiversity.
On the occasion, the staff of TSG Hotels & Resorts took a pledge to protect the ocean and marine life.
“Cleaning the beach is a way to give back to the earth in the smallest manner possible and also help people to enjoy cleaner and more hygienic surroundings. I am happy to be a part of this initiative by TSG Hotels & Resorts,” said Mr. Chiranjit Das, Corporate General Manager, TSG Hotels & Resorts.
