Port Blair, Apr 07: Directorate of Social Welfare remains dedicated to promoting a healthy and drug-free society through its innovative initiative, the Awareness cum Fitness Programme, commonly referred to as the Hasgulla Club, as part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” (Drug-Free India Campaign).
The 33rd Awareness Cum Fitness Program took place at Joggers Park from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM on 6th April (Saturday), inviting locals to participate in a refreshing morning routine. The session, which successfully engaged 13 beneficiaries, was expertly guided by Mr. Ravinder Rao, a teacher renowned for his expertise in the “Art of Living.”
A participant shared their experience, expressing appreciation for the Hasgulla Club’s positive influence in promoting a healthy society. They specifically noted that the laughter session infused them with positive energy, enhancing their overall sense of well-being.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), contributed an insightful perspective, emphasizing the pivotal role of the initiative in cultivating a vibrant and drug-free society. He specifically highlighted the transformative impact of exercise and meditation in steering individuals away from substance abuse, while simultaneously improving their physical and mental well-being.
The Directorate of Social Welfare extends an open invitation to all interested individuals to join the transformative “Hasgulla Club” program. This initiative provides a unique opportunity to participate in fitness and awareness activities, contributing to a healthier and drug-free lifestyle.
