Port Blair, Apr: On April 6, 2024, as an initiative aligned with the General Election 2024, the team of police personnel of Police Station Teressa facilitated a voter awareness program under the banner of SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s Education & Electoral Participation) the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. The event involved organizing a friendly volleyball match with the local tribal villagers on the premises of Police Station, Teressa. Throughout the awareness program, various placards and banners were prominently displayed, aimed at emphasizing the significance of voting for a healthy democracy and motivating the tribal villagers to participate in the upcoming general election by exercising their franchise on the day of polling i,e April 19, 2024.
The A&N Police has spared no effort in ensuring widespread electoral participation, engaging people from all sectors of society in the Union Territory, striving for a 100% voter turnout in the forthcoming General Election 2024.
