Port Blair, Feb 14: The Additional Director General (E), AIR and T V , Southern Region, A K Dixit has inaugurated the newly constructed Doordarshan Guest House on Thursday. The Guest house has been constructed by the Civil Construction Wing (CCW) at the cost of around 30 lakh rupees at AIR road near Akashvani and Doordarshan station complex.
Speaking on the occasion, Dixit said the Guest house would cater to the accommodation needs of the employees of Prasar Bharati during their visit to these islands. He complimented the efforts of all concerned to finish the guest house project effectively in time. Stressing the need for proper maintencance of the guest house, he called upon all the employees to maintain the guest house always neat and tidy condition.
The Director(E) of Doordarshan, R Mohan informed that preference will be given to the Prasar Bharati employees in the allotement of guest house on first come first served basis and the charges will be made as per the existing rates of Andaman and Nicobar administration for its guest houses.
The Director (E) of All India Radio, Mookan, Deputy Director General (E) of Southern Region, Nagabooshanam and Deputy Director P Stalin were present on the occasion. (PIB)
