
Port Blair, Mar 05: Taking a significant step forward towards various welfare measures of A&N Police and their family members, another chapter was added for enhancement of facilities to them. On 05th March, 2024, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with four banks: Axis Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda and HDFC Bank, with an aims to enhance the several monetary benefits for the esteemed police personnel, on terms of their Salary accounts with these banks, in the presence of DGP, A&N Islands, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS.
Pertinently, as of now, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had earlier been successfully executed with the State Bank of India (SBI) last year, covering 97% of the police personnel within the A & N Police force. This MoU, which is valid for a three-year period, ensures that these personnel receive exclusive facilities and benefits, provided through the Police Salary Package offered by the State Bank of India. Furthermore, the period of MoU may be extended for an additional 03 years, with mutual consent of both parties.
The Police Salary package (PSP) is a special package designed for the personnel of Andaman & Nicobar Police with an objective to extend the facilities at par with other States/UTs Police Force and CPOs/CAPFs.
The MoUs signed with the four banks today, provides following incentive/benefits to the A&N Police employees on their salary accounts: –

All the benefits as per the MoUs will be automatically extended to all Andaman & Nicobar Police personnel, who are covered under PSP (Police Salary Package) with the above-mentioned banks. The Andaman & Nicobar Police personnel, if they wish, can choose the particular bank, giving them better packages/facilities. It is expected that it will also ensure healthy competition among these banks to outdo each other by giving better packages/facilities and leverage to our personnel for opting for the best, in their individual interest and as per their requirements.
