Port Blair, Feb 29: An unidentified male body was found in a drain at the Prothrapur Atta Chakki area at around 1:30 pm this afternoon.
On information, a team comprising police personnel and forensic experts assessed the scene and examined the body. Despite their efforts, the identity of the deceased remains a mystery.
Local residents were urged to come forward and assist in identifying the body, but no conclusive information was obtained, till last report received.
Subsequently, the body was transported to the GB Pant Hospital Mortuary for further examination. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for tomorrow morning to determine the cause of death. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
