Port Blair, Feb 10: Continuing with its crackdown on illegal activities the Aberdeen Police has arrested 15 persons from a gambling den at Dairy Farm near Ganesh Temple on Friday (8th February) and gambling money valuing Rs. 29,665/- has been seized from them.
Acting on a tip off, a police team comprising of SHO Inspr. D. Jagdishwar Rao, alongwith the Ami- Burglary squad of PS Aberdeen raided the gambling den near Ganesh Temple on Friday evening and arrested fifteen persons namely Sebastin (32) yrs, R/o Delanipur, Y. Srinivas (27) yrs, Chinna Swamy (35) yrs, N. V. Rao (53) yrs., S. Shanta Kumar (39) yrs, Angu Swamy (55) yrs, Hari Krishna, (45) yrs, D. Danny, (39) yrs, Ram Subba Reddy (38) yrs, all R/o Dairy Farm. R. Sekhar (35) yrs, R/o Buniyadabad, S. Thirupathi (31) yrs, R/o Phongy Chaung, C. Ravi (29) yrs, R/o Buniyadabad, A. Sekhar (40) yrs, R/o Anarkali, M. Ganeshan (22) yrs R/o School Line, and Srinivasan (31) yrs., R/o Aberdeen Bazar from the den. A sum of Rs. 29,665/- including Rs. 21,950/- as board money alongwith 52 Nos. playing cards were seized from the spot. The gamblers have been booked under the A&N Gambling Regulation.
