Port Blair, Feb 15: Continuing its endeavor towards drug free society, the Police Stations under South Andaman District viz PS Aberdeen and PS Pahargaon arrested 02 persons for possession of Methamphetamine and smoking illicit ganja.
On 10/02/2024, acting on credible information, the PS Pahargaon team swiftly reached the Attampahar area. They discovered a car wherein someone was smoking a substance resembling ganja near a scrap yard. K. Mohit Swaroop, 27 years old, was found with a folded piece of paper containing ganja. Subsequent testing confirmed the substance to be Ganja. Mohit Swaroop was promptly arrested, and 06 grams of Ganja were seized from him.
Similarly, based on precise intelligence about Methamphetamine possession by Saurav Dhali, 22 years old, a proactive team from Police Station Aberdeen conducted a raid near Govt. Senior Secondary School, School Line. The operation led to the apprehension of Saurav Dhali, 22 years old, with 16.90 grams of Methamphetamine.
Two FIRS were registered at PS Pahargaon and PS Aberdeen against the accused persons.
The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Vikas, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman under the overall supervision of Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
These decisive actions underscore the South Andaman District police’s unwavering commitment to eradicate the drug menace from society. Such strict actions against drug peddlers and possession of drugs will continue in South Andaman District.
