Port Blair, Feb 07: President office bearers, and all members of the Andhra Association, Port Blair including the Telugu populace of A&N Islands have expressed their gratitude towards the Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lt. General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh for laying the foundation stone of Andaman and Nicobar Bhavan on 4th February, 2013 at Kaliasapuram (Salagramapuram), Vishakhapatnam on the land allotted by the Visakhapatnam Port Trust during 1998.
Mr. Dronamaraju Satyanarayana, M.P(Rajya Sabha) Visakhapatnam visited Andhra Association, Port Blair during 1998 and also played a key role in allotment of said land of VPT in coordination with A&N Administration and Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
Protracted correspondence and time to time persuasion of Andhra Association, Port Blair on the subject since 1998 onwards till date could yield with the intervention of Lt. Governor, A & N Islands to consider the proposal for laying the foundation stone for construction of Andaman and Nicobar Bhavan, Visakhapatnam on par with Andaman Bhavans at Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi.
“The Association eagerly hope and pray that the said proposed A & N Bhavan, Visakhapatnam be completed and will be inaugurated by L.G. in the near future,” a release from Andhra Association said here today.
