Port Blair, Feb 07: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, INTUC and Patron of Andaman & Nicobar Medical Employees Union in a letter addressed to the Principal Secretary (Health), A&N Administration has reiterated the demand of introduction of Patient Care Allowance (PCA) to all eligible health employees such as Ward Attendants, Ayahs, Safaiwala, Dressers etc. and other paramedical staff employees in Primary Health Center, Urban Health Center, Dispensaries in accordance with the guidelines promulgated in Ministry of Health & Family Welfare letter No. Z.28015/06/87-H dated 25th January,1988.
While referring to the issue of stoppage of payment of Hospital Patient Card Allowance (HPCA) by the Directorate of Health Services from 01.04.2009 in the wake of the instruction contained in Sixth Pay Commission Report, he appealed for immediate restoration of the (HPCA) to all eligible employees of the Directorate of Health Services at double the existing rate with effect from 01.09.2008 as per Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Office Memorandum Z.28015/119/2012-H dated 17.12.2012. Mr. Sharma has also urged for early payment of the arrears accrued to all eligible employees on account of retrospective increase HPCA.
