Port Blair, Feb 09: Working on grassroot change for more than two decades, the TSG Charitable Foundation has provided sustainable heat and water resilient roofing sheets for people of Chota Nagpuri Adivasis (Ranchi Community) living in Kesaridera, Kadamtala near Gate no. 03 towards the construction of Waiting Shed/Bus Stand.
Earlier the roof of Waiting Shed/Bus Stand was made up of leaves which usually faced leakages during rain and had to be replaced every year. This affected the people especially the small school going childrens who had to wait for bus.
The need for roofing sheet in the village was brought to the attention of Mr. G. Bhasker, Chairman, TSG Charitable Foundation by the Ranchi Association. Mr. G. Bhasker was deeply touched by the living condition of Chota Nagpuri Adivasis in forests after which he had decided to donate around 28 roofing sheets.
The roofing sheets were handed over to the villagers by Mr. G. Bhasker in the presence of Mr. Rangalal Halder, Social Worker, Mr. Y. Joga Rao, Councillor, Ward no. 14, Mr. Sebastian Tirkey, Secretary, Ranchi Association and Mr. Saji Varghese, Social Worker.
