
Port Blair, Feb 09: A delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh met Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (DoPT) to appraise the issues of working classes of A&N Islands. The matter of regularisation of DRMs was on top and explained in detail about the services they rendered for the development of A & N Islands in far flung areas without any basic amenities during that period. Today the serving personnels were attained the age of above 45 years and without any security they are working continuously. It was also conveyed that several DRMs were expired, met with accident and superannuated at that juncture the family were at stake. The detailed financial implications were also presented as all the DRMs were already granted 1/30th of pay and by regularising their services a very meagre amount is going to increase but they will have a social security. The Minister heard patiently and went through all the relevant documents and assured to consider the request in a positive manner. Conveyed that a meeting of Delegation with concerned Senior Officers, will be done shortly to arrive at a positive conclusion.
Apart from that, the matter of Hard Area coverage to the entire Union Territory, constitution of Andaman Nicobar Cadre was also discussed in length. The Minister appraised the efforts of Mr. Vishal Jolly for the well being of the working class.
