Port Blair, Feb 05: The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, inaugurated EVM Demonstration Centre in the premises District Office Car Nicobar today. The event marked an important initiative to promote voters’ awareness and education on the electoral process.
The EVM Demonstration Center provides opportunities to all local citizens for hands-on experience and information about the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines, fostering a deeper understanding of the democratic voting system of India.
The District EVM Demonstration Center will continue functioning all working days from 9 am to 5 pm. The DC (Nicobar) has requested the general public and tribal leaders to visit to the Center for EVM hands-on experience and ensure the functioning of EVM during election.
Through this demonstration Center, the District Administration, Nicobars aims to educate all local voters and ensure maximum voter turnout to achieve the target of Election Commission of India in the upcoming General Election 2024.
