Port Blair, Feb 05: On 05.02.2024, the Kalighat Police executed a swift and efficient operation. They successfully confiscated a substantial quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Talbagan, under the jurisdiction of PS Kalighat.
Acting swiftly on a tip, SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat formed a specialized team consisting of ASI Mukesh Charan, I/C OP Kishorinagar, PCs Irenious, Ramu and Shoaib Ali. The proactive team successfully seized a significant quantity of 150 liters of illicit Lehan, along with 01 No. iron drum, various utensils, and timber materials used in the production process. These materials were discreetly hidden within the jungle of Talbagan. Subsequently, all confiscated items were promptly destroyed, dealing a major blow to the illegal liquor manufacturing network.
The operation was carried out under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Chandra Prakash Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
