Port Blair, Feb 06: The Second State Resource Group (SRG) Meeting was held in the conference hall of Shiksha Sadan, Port Blair on 04th Feb 2013.
Dr.M.Ayya Raju, State Project Officer (SSA) and member Secretary of SRG welcome the Chief Guest Dr.R. Dev Das, Guest of Honour Dr. Meenu Dev, Programme Officer, DEP-SSA, IGNOU, New Delhi along with the other educationist, representative of Butterfly (NGO), Media person, faculty members of State Institute of Education, DIET, DEO (Sc) and other District Coordinators of State Resource Group. The Chief Guest in his address highlighted the importance of organizing SRG meeting in collaboration with Distance Education Programme IGNOU, New Delhi in order to organise flawless programmes in the forthcoming year. Later the Chief Guest also expressed that DEP-SSA is an integral part of SSA unit. They have organized nearly six programmes in these Islands during this session and the teachers have been benefited by it. He also added that the programmes should be more specific and constructive as well as the Resource Persons deputed should work with more dedication. These Islands have acquired the credit of opening pre-primary classes in all the government primary schools. Hence, guidance / training may be sought from DEP-SSA to the Pre-Primary Teachers (PPT) in handling the children.
The Guest of honour at the out set appreciated the SSA unit and all the teachers for a laudable performance during the training programme organized in these Islands. DEP – SSA has assured to provide Teaching Learning Materials to the Master Trainers for guidance and better prospects in the ensuing year.
Later, an interactive session was carried over having discussion on each agenda for providing benefits and improvement in the forthcoming programmes to be organized at Port Blair.
