Port Blair, Jan 18: To celebrate the harvest festival and colours of India on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the TSG Charitable Foundation in association with Ward No. 14 organized a Rangoli Making Competition in Dairy Farm Community Hall, in which a large number of childrens and youths participated enthusiastically.
The competition aimed at honing aesthetic skills, creativity and innovation of the young modernities.
Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman of TSG Charitable Foundation and Mr. Y. Joga Rao, Councillor, Ward No. 14 preceded over the programme. The programme was also attended by Mr. Saji Varghese, Social Worker, Mr. Eswar Rao, Social Worker, Mr. Miraz, Social Worker, Smt. Fathima Imtiaz, Social Worker and Mrs. Farida Bibi, Social Worker.
The youths of Dairy Farm spread the festive colours by traditionally decorating the Community Hall premises with colourful Rangoli designs depicting the significance of the festival.
They also presented traditional folk dances and modern dances to create an ambience filled revelry.
Later, prizes were also distributed to the people who have participated in the competition.
