Port Blair, Jan 18: Today, on 18/01/2024, in celebration of Police Raising Week 2024, the police personnel of Nicobar District organized various programmes at their respective jurisdictions. The events included yoga session attended by police staff of Car Nicobar at Chukchuka Beach followed by beach cleaning and laughter therapy. A drawing competition was organized by Inspector Shabana Haneef and SI J.Ramakrishna at GSSS Malacca, Car-Nicobar. A self defense training session for the students of GMS Kamorta with the slogan “Darna nahi Ladna hai” was organized by SI Calvin, SHO PS Nancowrie. A demonstration of fire safety was also organized at BJR Stadium, Car-Nicobar with the help of staff of Fire and Emergency Services. The session was aimed at raising awareness about preventive measures and methods for fire fighting to ensure the safety of individuals during fire incidents. Further, a Police station visit of students of GSSS Kapanga was organized by PS Katchal to promote awareness among students regarding working of police in day-to-day life and thus strengthening community engagement.
