Port Blair, Feb 05: The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested to the Lt Governor to consider Petrol pumps at Neil Kendra and Hutbay for the benefit of the populace of the islands and also for the tourists.
In a letter Sharma stated that with the efforts of the AN Administration, apart from other islands, these two islands have also become a favourite tourist destination.
“The virgin sea beach of Hutbay has become very popular beach amongst the locals and also amongst the Indian and foreign tourists. Whereas the vegetable bowl of Andaman, the Neil Island provides the most eco-friendly spot for picnicking. But in both the islands there is no petrol pump,” he said in his letter.
Sharma added that if the Administrator considers petrol pumps at these two islands the action would benefit both Islanders and tourists.
