Diglipur, Jan. 02: The 67th SGFI National School Football Championship (Boys under-17 years) organized by Directorate of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Port Blair which started on 27th December, 2023 is to conclude on 05th January, 2024. Total participating teams are – 35 (Including our A & N Islands team) (League cum Knock-out Football Tournaments).
However, it is a matter of great joy and pride that a budding footballer M.Brahmeswar Rao, S/o. Mr. M. Ananda Rao, R/o Naveen Nagar, Diglipur studying in the Institution of PM SHRI. Govt. Senior Secondary School, Subashgram, Class.XII-D, Diglipur, North Andaman has got selected in the prestigious 67th SGFI National School Football Championship for Boys under 17 years.
“We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to M.Brahmeswar Rao whose outstanding performance has earned him a well deserved spot in the prestigious 67th SGFI National School Football Championship for Boys under 17 years. A proud movement to say that he is selected in the A & N Islands team to participate in the above said tournament from our Diglipur Zone, North Andaman”, said the In-Charge, Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur. “As the days pass, M. Brahmeshwar Rao is advancing towards his mission and we are hopeful that he will represent not only his school but also the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands at national level, as well. And we are confident that Rao will continue to raise the bar and make his mark in the annals of Diglipur Schools Football history,” said M.Brahmeswar Rao’s fellow players.
Meanwhile, budding soccer M. Brahmeshwar Rao has honed his skills during various football tournaments organised at local level at Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur. Inter-school zonal level football tournaments organized by the DEO, Diglipur, Special Football Match on the Eve of “Meri Maati Mera Desh Utsav” organized by District Police, N & M Andaman, Football Matches organized by Andaman Territorial Army and by the Football Club, Madras in Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur in the year 2023 have proven to be highly beneficial for Rao, who have not only improved his techniques but also developed a competitive spirit by interacting with fellow players from diverse backgrounds, Rao’s fellow players said. The DEO, Diglipur has a crucial role to play in Rao’s selection in the 67th SGFI National School Football Championship for Boys under 17 years, as the Deputy Education Officer took tremendous initiatives in conducting the tournaments in Diglipur, they further said.
