Mayabunder, Dec 11: In a appeal to healthcare authorities, Mr. Abdul Siddique, former Pramukh of Mayabunder, has urgently requested intervention for the immediate restoration of the non-functional dialysis unit in Mayabunder.
Expressing concern over the situation, Mr. Siddique highlighted the challenges faced by dialysis patients in the absence of a functional unit in Mayabunder. Currently, patients are forced to endure arduous journeys to Port Blair, Rangat, or Diglipur, travelling through the deplorable condition of the National Highway -4.
The non-operational state of the dialysis unit has hugely impacted the lives of patients, aggravating their existing health conditions. Dialysis patients, already burdened with physical and emotional stress, face increased struggles due to the unavailability of essential healthcare services in Mayabunder.
Mayabunder, serving as a central hub between Diglipur and Rangat, plays a crucial role in providing medical assistance to residents from these tehsils. Hence, the urgent need for the seamless functioning of the dialysis unit in Mayabunder to ensure wider accessibility to vital healthcare services.
Mr. Abdul Siddique has appealed for immediate intervention and necessary directions to restore the dialysis unit. The reinstatement of this facility, he emphasized, would not only end the suffering of patients but also guarantee timely medical care for the entire region.
