Port Blair, Jan 29: INTUC President, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma in his letter to Chief Engineer, APWD has made several demands which includes, filling up the vacant posts in the workshop and E&M Division by promoting the eligible employees of the division.
He further added that the post of Electrician, Wireman, Asst Wireman, Kalasi, Head Mechanic, Mechanic, Assistant Mechanic, Pump driver, Assistant Pump driver etc are lying vacant since long.
President PCC also demanded that the posts of work charged welders of E&M Division and Workshop Division are to be converted as Kalasi while vacant posts of Work Assistant in APWD are to be filled up by the eligible Work Charged Welders of the department.
He also demanded to upgrade the pay scale of Drivers who are working in the same rank since long by upgrading them to Grade I and Grade II hierarchies. In his letter he has also demanded for the formation of the new works committee for the E&M Division at the earliest because the tenure of the existing works committee has expired long back. His letter also included the demand to increase the wages of the Daily Rated Mazdoors who have crossed 240 days of continuous service to one third of the wages of Regular Mazdoor with dearness allowance.
