Port Blair, Nov 14: A theft case has been reported at the Rangat Police Station, Middle Andaman, involving the theft of a gold chain and other gold ornaments from a residence. The incident was documented in a report filed on 13th November 2023.
According to the report, the theft occurred on the night of 12th November 2023, coinciding with the festivities of Diwali and Kali Puja. The homeowner, a lady residing in Sita Nagar, Rangat, had left her house to attend Kali Puja celebrations at Nimbutala area of Middle Andaman.
Upon returning the next morning, she discovered disarray within her residence. Upon closer inspection, she realized that a gold chain, along with golden earrings, were missing.
It was revealed that the owner’s daughter had been away in Havelock for work on the night of the incident, leaving the house unattended. The suspicious circumstances prompted the filing of a complaint with the local police, leading to the initiation of an investigation. The police team has already commenced its inquiry and further details are awaited.
