Port Blair, Nov 01: The National assessment regulator PARAKAH, NCERT will conduct the first State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS-2023) on November 3, 2023. SEAS-2023 will be conducted in grades 3, 6, and 9 in sampled schools across all States/Union Territories (UTs) at the block level. The purpose of this survey is to assess learning competencies at the end of the foundational, preparatory, and middle stages of education.
State Education Achievement Survey (SEAS) represents a distinctive and benchmark assessment, marking a gradual shift from rote learning to competency-based education. The adoption of competency-based learning holds the potential to foster the holistic development of students. This survey will serve as an effective tool for identifying areas of improvement and implementing evidence-based policies to enhance the quality of education.
States involvement would contribute significantly to the ongoing efforts to uplift the educational landscape. It will provide valuable data and insights that can be used to formulate targeted interventions at the block level, addressing specific challenges and ensuring inclusive development.
About 6500 students from all nine educational blocks comprising 145 schools (All management schools) of Andaman and Nicobar Islands will also participate in SEAS 2023 conducted by the Ministry of Education and NCERT.
