Port Blair, Oct. 26:Under National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), the 3rd round of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination was successfully completed at Veterinary Dispensary (VD), Manglutan. Three Panchayats namely Guptapara, Humfrygunj and Wandoor were covered under the jurisdiction of VD, Manglutan. A cumulative total of 1452 cattle belonging to 317 farmers were vaccinated under the programme and from among the lot, 601 cattle were newly tagged.
Meanwhile, booster dose vaccine will be administered to all young calves between 4-5 months from 26th October onwards. Veterinary Dispensary, Manglutan have started administering booster dose of vaccine to 4-5 months calves. Medicines were also distributed to the needy farmers through Mobile Veterinary Dispensary at the famer’s doorstep today at Manjeri village of Guptapara, Panchayat under Veterinary Dispensary, Manglutan. A total of 10 families benefited from this service.
A team of Veterinary Dispensary, Manglutan visited progressive farmer’s house of Smti Gulapi Singh rearing backyard poultry and Janki Adhikari rearing 19 pigs (5 adults, 3 piglets and 11 growers) at Guptapara Panchayat.
