Port Blair, Jan 27: The PCC President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegation of crusher owners has met the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest Dr Shashi Kumar and appraised him about the difficulties being faced by the crusher owners on account of the terms and conditions laid down in the new notification issued by the AN Administration.
Sharma has stated that implementation of such notification will lead about 80% crusher units to be closed which will cause adverse effect on the developmental works of these islands.
Further to it, many crusher owners have taken interest bearing loan from Banks for running their business and unable to carry out their works and paying interest to the Banks and thus bearing heavy loss. Hence he has requested the PCCF to consider giving some positive relaxation in the terms and conditions so that the crusher owners may start their works. PCCF gave a patience hearing and reportedly assured to look into the matter
