Port Blair, Oct 18: The A&N Traffic Police is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors. To further this mission, to enhance road safety and minimize traffic-related incidents, A&N Traffic Police are issuing important traffic guidelines to the general public.
Obey Traffic rules: All drivers are urged to adhere to traffic laws and regulations. Running red lights, speeding, and other traffic violations not only endanger lives but may also result in legal consequences.
Remove abandoned vehicles: Please refrain from abandoning vehicles on public roads. Abandoned vehicles pose safety hazards and will be subject to towing and impoundment.
Follow One-Way Roads: Respect and follow designated one-way roads to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Disregarding one-way signs can lead to accidents and traffic congestion.
Prohibit Minor Driving: It is strictly forbidden for minors to operate motor vehicles. Parents and guardians must ensure their children do not drive without proper licenses and supervision.
Tinted Glass and Modified Silencers: Vehicle modifications that violate traffic regulations, such as excessively tinted windows or modified exhaust systems are illegal and subject to penalties. Ensure your vehicle complies with local laws.
Use of Communication Devices: Do not use mobile phones or other communication devices while driving unless you have a hands-free system in place. Distracted driving can lead to accidents.
Avoid Distractions: Eliminate distractions such as eating, grooming, or using electronic devices while driving. Concentrate solely on the road to prevent accidents.
A&N Traffic Police will conduct a special drive against various traffic violations mentioned above from next week onwards and the public are once again requested to follow all the traffic rules for the safety of all. Violators will be prosecuted as per law.
