Port Blair, Jan 23: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President has written a letter to the Principal Secretary Health, AN Administration and informed him that, the Primary Health Centre, Billyground is the only health centre which is looking after the medical cases of Shivapuram, Harinagar, Swadeshnagar and Basantipur Gram Panchayats.
The people of all these 4 gram panchayats depend on this only primary health centre for their medical checkups since there is no private medical centre available in this area. But due to lack of infrastructures like ambulance, oxygen cylinders, x-ray machine etc the patients are suffering very badly and being referred to Port Blair or Rangat for further investigation.
Accordingly Sharma has requested him to consider an ambulance with driver, some oxygen cylinders and installation of X Ray machine and other infrastructure as per the requirement of the PHC. “If this request is considered this will be a great help to the residents of the area,” Mr. Sharma said in a Press Release.
