Port Blair, Oct 04: A delegation of Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh today met the Commissioner – cum – Secretary (Health), A & N Administration on the issue of non – payment of salary for two months of NHM staff attached with State Health Society.
The service period of all incumbents were expired on 31st July 2023 but the extension of service for according approval of the competent authority was not carried out by the State Health Society whereas the respective Districts of South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar districts got the extension of service and the salaries were paid smoothly.
One of the components of NHM i.e. National Ayush Mission also accorded the extension of all employees and released the salary in time but the employees attached with State Health Society in which around 200 employee’s salaries were pending for the last two months.
The Commissioner – cum – Secretary (Health) gave a patient hearing and assured that immediate action will be taken to accord the extension of employees and to release the salary. The delegation was led by Mr. Jaydeep Kr. Dey, President, ANRKM and accompanied by Mr. S. Biju Pillai, General Secretary, ANRKM and Mr. Vijay Nair.
