Port Blair, Sep 28: Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) conducted three days Capacity Building Workshop on augmenting usage of Strengthening Overall Care for HIV beneficiaries (SOCH) under National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) from 25th to 27th September, 2023 at DBRAIT, Dollygunj, Port Blair.
In the keynote address, Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS welcomed all ICTC Counsellors, Lab. Technicians and Staff Nurse from 13 ICTCs, DSRC, SRL, FI-ART Centre, Blood Bank and SACS Officials who attended the workshop and also highlighted the crucial role of ICTC Counsellors and Lab. Technicians in ICTC, ART, STI and TI SOCH module and the usages of the Portal in the day to day work.
The Project Director stressed upon achieving the 95:95:95 target set by the UNAIDS and the key role could be played by the field level staff to cure the disease in the different pockets of the A&N Islands. He also motivated the participants for an innovative approach towards elimination of HIV/AIDS by 2030. The main objective of the workshop is to obtain 100% testing, treatment and real time data of individual beneficiaries.
National AIDS Control Organization has developed Integrated Information Management System – Strengthening Overall Care for HIV beneficiaries (SOCH) is to create a beneficiary-centric web and mobile based system, to track and record, beneficiary service and inventory transactions to improve service delivery and beneficiary health outcome.
The system will capture inventory and service delivery information pertaining to individual beneficiaries throughout the HIV continuum, create a centralized repository of EHR (Electronic-Health Record) and facilitate forecasting, inventory planning and clinical decision support. The proposed system will form part of the overall IT landscape of MoHFW, have API based linkages with other independent MoHFW IT systems that intersect with the HIV continuum.
Dr. Jahanara Yasmeen, Dy. Director (IEC), Dr. P. K. Sikdar, Assistant Director (LSD)/ICTC i/c, Mr. S. Senthil Nathan, Assistant Director (CST)/STI i/c and Mr. K Sankar Rao, Assistant Director (M&E) were the resource person who has imparted the three days training.
The workshop was successfully concluded with a vote of thanks given by Mr. K Sankar Rao, Assistant Director (M&E) and distribution of certificates to the participants by the Project Director, ANACS
