Port Blair, Sep 25: Tour of Andaman Edition 4 officially launched from the historic Cellular Jail at 7:30 AM on 24th September 2023. The event was flagged off by Commander Coast Guard Andaman Nicobar, IG Mr. Bhisham Sharma, marking the beginning of an extraordinary cycling odyssey. This journey will pass through some of the captivating locations, including Chidiyatapu, Mount Manipur, Shoal Bay, Jirkatang, Baratang, Rangat, Mayabunder, Ross & Smith Island and finally ending the journey at Diglipur.
The Tour of Andaman Edition 4 covers a remarkable distance of over 400 kilometers, encompassing the entirety of the Andaman Islands – from Port Blair in South Andaman, through Mayabunder in Middle Andaman, to the scenic landscapes of Diglipur in North Andaman. Cyclists participating in this edition will cycle through some of the most breathtaking terrains, providing the ultimate test of endurance, determination, and physical and mental limits.25 cyclists from various parts of India and from the islands are participating in these 9 days cycling tour.
This prestigious event is meticulously organized by Team Parikrama in collaboration with the Hoteliers Association of A & N Islands along with the Department of Tourism A & N Administration. It serves as a testament to the enduring spirit of adventure and eco-friendly tourism promotion in these islands.
