Mayabunder, September 22: Large number of residents of Karmatang-IX and X in Mayabunder have been grappling with erratic power supply and voltage fluctuations for a long time. The issue, which has persisted for nearly a year, has prompted approximately 35 to 40 villagers from Karmatang to seek immediate redressal from the authorities.
The aggrieved villagers reached the Electricity Department’s site office in Mayabunder around 9:00 pm yesterday, under the leadership of a concerned representative. Promptly contacted over the phone, the situation was relayed to Mr. Abdul Siddique, the Ex-Pramukh, Mayabunder who was informed about the villagers’ plight.
The duty staff at the site office promptly notified the Junior Engineer, about the arrival of the villagers from Karmatang. Without delay, the JE rushed to the Electricity site office in Mayabunder to engage with the affected villagers directly. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Mr. Mansoor, the JE mobilized a team of staff to assess and address the persistent power issues in Karmatang.
According to Mr. Abdul Siddique, one of the villagers’ primary grievances was the lack of timely response from the Electricity Department when they reported prolonged power cuts. Villagers claimed that they often received explanations or excuses for the disruptions, leaving them frustrated and disillusioned with the department’s services.
In light of these ongoing challenges, Mr. Abdul Siddique, on behalf of the people of Karmatang, has issued an earnest appeal to the Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Department in Mayabunder. In his letter, he urged the authorities to promptly investigate the issues plaguing Karmatang and bring immediate relief for the affected residents.
