Port Blair, Sep 20: An unfortunate incident was reported from Sitapur village wherein the family has lost their son namely Akash Mondal, 17 years S/o Swapan Mondal under Rangat Tehsil and also lost their house due to falling of tree due to heavy rains on the midnight of 13.09.2023. Taking note of the unfortunate incident, the revenue team with line departments immediately cleared the incident area and shifted them to a safe place.
Accordingly, the District Administration’s relief team submitted the assessment report on 15.09.2023 for compensation and the District Administration has immediately sanctioned the compensation amount of Rs. 2,75,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Seventy Five Thousand Only) as per the A&N Gazette Notification No.143/2015/F.No.8-1/2015-R&R dated 12th August 2015 issued by the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and compensation was handed over to the family by the Tehsildar, Pradhan & Up- Pradhan on 18.09.2023.
