
Port Blair, Sep 20: The two-day visit of Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM), Mr. Ajay Bhatt, to the enchanting Andaman and Nicobar Islands from 17 Sep to 18 Sep 23 was marked by meticulously planned activities and meaningful interactions. The visit began with paying homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Sankalp Smarak at INS Utkrosh, followed by a courtesy meeting with Lt Governor Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM. AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd) at Raj Niwas. This was followed by the grand inauguration of the PM Vishwakarma Yojna at the BR Ambedkar Auditorium, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. PM Vishwakarma is a newly announced scheme for artisans and traditional crafts people, which was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech to the Nation.
The visit to Headquarters Andaman and Nicobar Command included a comprehensive briefing and Op Discussions with Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN). The visit also included a conference with Tourism Officials emphasizing the immense potential of the region and outlining a broader vision for its development.
During the visit, RRM Mr. Ajay Bhatt engaged in many important interactions and discussions, highlighting the strategic importance of this picturesque archipelago. Following the successful culmination of these activities, RRM Mr. Ajay Bhatt departed for New Delhi in the morning on 18 Sep 23.
