Port Blair, Sep 15: Second International Conference on “Prospects and challenges of environment and biological sciences in food production system for livelihood security of farmers (ICFPL-2023)” is jointly organized by Pragati International Scientific Research Foundation (PISRF), Meerut, UP, India and Andaman Science Association (ASA), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India, in collaboration with ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, (SVPUAT), Meerut, India, from September 18-20, 2023 at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
The inaugural session will be held at Dr.T.R. Dutta conference hall, Garacharma research complex of ICAR-CIARI on September 18, 2023, from 9:15 a.m-11.30 a.m.
Mr. Swatantra Dev Singh, Cabinet Minister of Water Resources, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Government will be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the conference in benign presence of Dr. P. L. Patil, Vice Chancellor of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Dharwad, Karnataka. Dr. P. K. Singh, Agriculture Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, GoI, Mr. Rajeev Choudhary, Director of Agricultural Engineering, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. E. B. Chakurkar, Director of ICAR- CIARI, Port Blair and Dr. Gaya Prasad, Chairman ICFPLS 2023 & former Vice Chancellor of SVPUAT, Meerut, UP.
The upcoming international conference will host a diverse participation of over 200 scientists from 15 different states across India to present research findings on various pertinent issues. The deliberation will be on important thematic areas such as Natural resource management for climate smart agriculture, sustainable agriculture production for enhancing livelihood security of farmers, technological interventions for coastal and island agriculture, sustainable livestock and fish production system, transforming agriculture and food value chains through indigenous initiatives, integrating modern intelligent systems and smart farming techniques into rural agriculture, gender empowerment through technological interventions, agricultural education system and rural entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, more than 15 progressive farmers from different fields Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal husbandry, Fisheries & Natural Resource Management will be honored by the Pragati International Scientific Research Foundation, Meerut, UP, India. Eminent scientists, in almost 50 different research areas will also be awarded during this International conference.
